BYD Electric Cars Can Still Run When Battery Zero, How Far?

JAKARTA - Each electric car is equipped with a fairly long distance, an average of 400 to 500 km. However, many owners are worried about the possibility of running out of battery power when traveling long distances.

This certainly raises a big question, can electric cars still continue their journey without power? In response to this, the Head of Product of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Bobby Bharata, explained that BYD electric cars can still run even with limited distance.

"If the battery runs out, there is still about 1-2 kilometers of power left. The car will not just die," he said when interviewed by VOI in Bandung, West Java, Monday, January 29.

Furthermore, Bobby ensured that when the battery reaches below 15 percent, the system installed on BYD will provide warnings to immediately charge.

"But when the battery drops below 15 percent, a weak battery notification will appear," he added.

Thus, each user can ensure that they immediately charge their electric car battery in order to continue their journey to their destination. On BYD Atto 3, there will be an information screen regarding battery consumption.

Bobby explained that when the battery becomes weak or reaches below five percent, BYD's electric car maintains its performance and features. The vehicle continues to operate normally as when the battery is fully charged.

"So, there is no significant change. All functions continue to run normally without interference," he said.

For additional information, the VOI team has tested two BYD models, namely Dolphin and Atto 3. However, it has never been tested for electric car batteries until they have completely run out of power.
