Polda Metro: South Jakarta District Court Allows Confiscation Of Aiman Witjaksono's Cellphones
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya stated that the confiscation of Aiman Witjaksono's cellphone in handling the alleged case of spreading fake news was in accordance with the rules. This is because investigators have obtained permission from the South Jakarta District Court.
"Investigators have obtained a confiscation permit from the South Jakarta District Court and it has also been equipped with a confiscation warrant," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Tuesday, January 30.
Currently, Aiman Witjaksono's cellphone has been used as evidence in the case.
For that reason, the investigator's steps in handling cases are in accordance with the criminal procedural law book or the Criminal Procedure Code.
"I think what investigators have done has been done professionally and accountably," said Ade.
Previously, Ade also said that the confiscation of Aiman Witjaksono's cellphone was for the sake of evidence in the investigation.
"The confiscation is a series of actions by investigators to take over and or store under their control, objects moving or not moving, tangible or intangible, for the sake of evidence in investigation, prosecution and judiciary," said Ade.
