Slank Involves Dozens Of Musicians And Figures In M3tal Greetings

JAKARTA - After declaring his support firmly in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election contestation, Slank finally launched a song titled Salam M3tal to support his choice, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD.

Together with Slank, dozens of musicians, culturalists, and activists call themselves through a movement called the Love Revolution. They include Oppie Andaresta, Dira Sugandi, Yuni Shara, Iwa K, NDX AKA, Yenny Wahid, Butet Kartaredjasa, and many others.

Bimbim said that the song Salam M3tal was presented as a musical work of cross-cultural arts collaboration, professions and different generations of background, but had the same thoughts and struggles to maintain the establishment of democracy in Indonesia.

"We also launched this song as a form of collaboration over concerns about the smoothing of ethical norms, misappropriation of the constitution to threats to democracy in the future," said Bimbim during a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta, Monday, January 29.

Furthermore, Abdee Negara said that this song was not only intended to support Ganjar and Mahfud. They want the M3tal Greetings to be a song that presents a movement for the realization of the ideals of the Love Revolution.

"Not only as a form of support, the song Salam M3tal is also a humanitarian movement initiated by Slank with the aim of ignite the spirit of the Red and White in order to realize the ideals of the Love Revolution, as well as to continue the spirit of the mental revolution that has been echoed before," said Abdee.

The Love Revolution echoed by Slank at this time is their demand for a supported partner. There will be 21 points that will be notified later.

"There are 21 points that we name the Love Revolution. We will leak it immediately, what are the points," said Bimbim.

The M3tal greeting was written specifically by Bimbim. He includes melodies and light lyrics to sing with the supporters.
