Serang City Government Seals 13 Nightclubs
SERANG - The City Government (Pemkot) of Serang together with the TNI, Polri, Satpol PP and PLN sealed 13 nightclubs (THM) in Serang City, Banten.
Acting (Pj) Mayor of Serang, Yedi Rahmat, explained that the THM was closed due to many public reports with the commotion that occurred.
"This is a mandate and aspiration of the community and scholars and there are also several aspirations that were conveyed at the first time the Acting Mayor of Serang was inaugurated on December 5, 2023," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.
The aspirations conveyed by the community include THM, public street lighting (PJU) and street children's activities, two of which have been carried out by the THM and PJU while street children will be completed soon.
Yedi emphasized that if there are entrepreneurs who stubbornly open their businesses again, they will be prosecuted according to the laws and regulations.
"If after the sealing is not allowed to be reopened, we must obey the laws and regulations and can be subject to a sentence of 4 years in prison," he said.

Yedi said the Serang City Government had time consequences for THM businessmen to immediately close the THM before the demolition.
"Maybe we will give until the end of the election around February 20, 2024, we will dismantle it if it is still stubborn," he said.
He also said that business licenses had violated the rules because initially for restaurant permits, they were misused into THM.
