In Tegal, Gibran Conveys Discourse On Removing Farmer Cards

TEGAL - When meeting the farmer community in Tegal, Central Java, vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka conveyed the discourse of removing the Farmer Card if the Prabowo-Gibran pair was elected to win the 2024 presidential election.

In the dialogue event "Gibran Hearing" in Slawi, Tegal, Gibran conveyed that the discourse arose because the Prabowo Subianto-GibranRakabuming Raka pair did not want to make it difficult for farmers to get subsidized fertilizers from the government.

"We have a plan to delete the Farmer's Card. We don't want to ratify the farmers. We don't want the fertilizer subsidy to be right on target," Gibran told the farmers as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

Gibran explained various complaints about the Farmer's Card being heard by the Prabowo-Gibran pair when they campaigned for several areas on the island of Java.

Therefore, he promised that the problem of distributing fertilizers and Farmer Cards would be resolved systemically and thoroughly if they were elected later.

"Regarding farmers, almost all of these cities have complained about fertilizer problems. We will follow up on this later, really? What is clear is that we will fix the system later, especially the Tani Card, so that it is more targeted," said the eldest son of President Joko Widodo.

The Farmer Card Program, which was initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture, was launched in 2016 for farmers in the Java region.

Not only hearing complaints from farmer groups, Gibran also received input from fishermen in Tegal.

"Then for the fishermen's problem, the measurable fishing problem, it has been postponed; tax issues, licensing issues, etc., will be reviewed so as not to make it difficult," Gibran told the fishing community at a similar dialogue event.

The city of Tegal became the location of Gibran's campaign while in the northern coastal area (Pantura) of Java on the 63rd day of the 2024 presidential election campaign, Monday.

Before visiting Tegal, Gibran campaigned in Pekalongan and met the batik craftsmen. In front of the batik craftsmen, Gibran promised to meet them again and help market batik die-commerce handicraft products.

After coming from Tegal, Gibran continued his trip to Brebes to meet onion farmers and Prabowo-Gibran volunteers throughout Brebes.
