Operating Normally A Full Month, RMKE Records Volume 880.9 MT Coal
PT RMK Energy Tbk managed to load 110 barges with a total volume of 880.9 thousand MT of coal in December 2023 after returning to normal operations since mid-November 2023.
This volume increased significantly by 119 percent month on month (mom) and was the highest volume of barge cargo in December for the last 5 years.
When compared to the same period last year, the cargo volume of this barge increased by 16.8 percent yoy.
Until the December 2023 period, RMKE has loaded 962 barges with a total volume of 7.6 million MT of coal, or tends to be stable compared to the same period last year although operations were temporarily suspended due to operational improvements to meet the administration recommended by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) since early September 2023.
This December achievement is the result of RMKE's efforts to prioritize an improvement in the implementation of good corporate governance (GCG) which is good by resolving administrative sanctions for related parties so that it can continue to operate normally in the future.
RMKE also maintains on-time performance (OTP) for train unloading in 2023 45 minutes faster to 3:24 hours per train compared to last year's train unloading time of 4:09 hours.
In addition to more efficient and effective unloading times, the use of fuel decreased by 5.0 percent yoy.
On average, the ratio of fuel use per MT of coal until December was still more efficient from 0.90 liters per MT last year to 0.88 liters per MT this year or 1.9 percent yoy YTD December 2023.
From the coal sales segment, in December 2023, the Company has sold 340.6 thousand MT of coal, an increase of 182.6 percent mom.
Until the December 2023 period, RMKE sold 2.4 million MT coal tends to be stable compared to the same period last year, although operations had been temporarily suspended due to operational improvements since early September 2023.
This is also supported by coal demand which tends to increase until the end of 2023, both nationally and globally.
The President Director of RMKE, Vincent Saputra, the operational performance of barge cargo and coal sales volume has reached the target in 2023 of 70 percent and 84.5 percent, respectively.

This achievement is still not optimal due to several operational constraints faced by the Company since September 2023.
