Tesla Model 3 Performance Will Be Launched In China In The Second Quarter Of This Year

JAKARTA - Tesla started sales of the updated Model 3, or Highland version, in China last October with only entry and remote versions available. Now, the Performance version is reportedly due to launch soon.

Citing from the CNevpost page, Monday, January 29, the new Tesla Model 3 Performance is expected to go on sale in China in the second quarter, and is likely to be priced near 400,000 yuan or around Rp881 million, according to local media information Dongchedi.

"The new Model 3 Performance, recently launched from a production line at the US plant, will begin mass production at the end of March at the Shanghai and Fremont factories and go on sale in the first half of this year," the report said.

There are various changes in the performance variant with others, such as the carbon fiber exterior on the back, and the motorcycle dual badge, besides that the new Model 3 Performance will also have the same radial pattern on the back as the Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid.

In addition, there will be new rims and improvements to braking systems, suspensions, larger disc brakes and more capable tires.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known about the powertrain information for this new variant, while the Model 3 Performance previously appeared on a double motorbike with a combined power output of 357 kW and a combined torque of 659 Nm.

The old 3 Performance model is capable of running from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a CLTC range of 675 kilometers.
