Zero And Hero MotoCorp Collaborate To Develop Four New Electric Motors
JAKARTA - Various two-wheeled manufacturers are racing to create the latest electric motorcycle model that requires technological sophistication, not even a few manufacturers work together in developing platforms to facilitate the birth of various new models.
Zero Motorcycles has just signed a deal with India's Hero MotoCorp, to sell the brand's motorcycles on the Indian market, citing the Rideapart page, Monday, January 29.
According to a recent report from local Indian media, the two companies are working together to develop a new electric platform. More specifically, in an Investor Hero MotoCorp Interaction report dated January 23, 2024, it was revealed that the upcoming electric motorcycle platform would give birth to at least four different motorcycle models.
Hero and Zero approach will reportedly come in two phases. The first phase will involve launching two high-performance models, both supported by the same technology, but carrying a different body style.
Furthermore, this partnership will offer middle-class electric motorcycles, perhaps using the same powertrain even though it is set for a more friendly performance for beginners. It is hoped that the first launch will take place in 2025.

Please note, Zero has only produced electric motorcycles from the start while Hero also has a sub-brand, Vida, which focuses on electric motorcycle models. The collaboration between Hero and Zero is expected to produce motorcycles that have the same technology and performance as Zero, but at a much more affordable price for more motorists.
If you look at the existing reports, it appears that at least one model in each phase will be a motor focused on the highway, while other models will be a more sporting model with more aggressive ergonomics.
