SBY Asks For Support From Jember Residents So That Democrats Can Return To Government

Chairman of the Upper House of the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) asked for support from the residents of Jember so that the party bearing the Mercy Star symbol could return to the government."If you return to government, good programs and policies can be continued. Please support you, the Democratic Party returns to the government," said SBY when meeting a number of community leaders from various circles at City Forest, Jember Regency, East Java, Sunday, January 28.The Democratic Party can contribute more if it is in government as it was when he served as president for two terms in 2004-2014 in accordance with the Democratic Party's slogan that the people should not be difficult, must be more prosperous."In the past, when the Democratic Party was in government, we could do a lot. But for the past 10 years we have been outside the government, thus giving advice and criticism when there are policies that are less in favor of the people," he said.SBY hopes that after the 2024 election the Democratic Party will return to the government and remain critical of government policies that do not side with the people."We are fighting for the next president, willing to be willing to re-implement our programs and policies that were still loved by the people," he said.He explained that future leaders, presidents, ministers, members of the DPR must be able to ensure that in the next five years they can improve people's welfare and living standards are getting better."Leaders must think about their people and listen to the voices of the people. Leaders must also understand the problems of the people and a good leader can overcome problems without channeling difficulties to the people," he said.SBY also had a dialogue with community leaders from various groups by offering a number of solutions complained by representatives of the group, ranging from education issues, welfare to increases in the salaries of soldiers.
He also asked all legislative candidates for the Democratic Party not to make many promises to the public during the 2024 election campaign because the impact would make people distrustful.
