Fighting When Arrested, Robber In Kampar Shot Dead By Police
The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police shot a gunmen who carried out their actions in various locations in West Sumatra after a shootout in Kampar Regency, Riau, Saturday, January 27.
Direskrimum Polda Riau Kombes Pol Asep Darmawan when disclosing the case explained that the man with the initials R had injured two officers when he was about to be arrested.
Perpetrator R is suspected of being involved in a robbery case armed with firearms in five places in West Sumatra for several years and has been in police pursuit since 2022.
"We have backed up the arrest of the perpetrator who lives in Kampar. He has committed his crimes in West Sumatra Province many times," said Asep.
When ambushing R at his residence, according to Asep, the perpetrator repeatedly opened fire at the police who picked him up.
"As a result, Aiptu Edi jurmano was shot in the wrist," he said.
He explained that the shootout occurred from the front to the back of R's house and the perpetrator did not stop releasing hot lead at the officers. Shots stopped after R finally died in the backyard of his house.
"We took R's body to Bhayangkara Hospital before returning to his hometown in Aceh," said Kombes Asep.
Based on the results of the search of R's house, Asep said, three homemade firearms and manufacturers were found as well as a number of bullets.

"It was seen with the naked eye that there were manufacturer firearms along with several bullets. But it is not yet known where the suspect got this weapon," he said.
The location of R's hiding is known after two other suspects with the initials IL and MZ were arrested by officers in Tapung, Kampar Regency, on Thursday (25/1). IL is the initiator and MZ is the executor.
