Maruarar Sirait Joins TKN, Prabowo Subianto: Positions Still Wanted

JAKARTA - Former PDIP politician Maruarar Sirait joined the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka National Campaign Team (TKN).

"The presence here is also Maruarar Sirait's brother, who just joined TKN Prabowo-Gibran," Prabowo said while giving a speech at the Indonesian Young Voice for Prabowo-Gibran at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, Saturday, January 27.

"We are still looking for his position, basically he is now the deputy chairman of this field and that. The main thing that needs to be resolved is we send Ara Sirait," he added.

Maruarar Sirait previously dismissed his political attitude in favor of presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election was directed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Ara said his political move was his choice of heart.

"I'm just a small person, an ordinary person, just following my heart, I follow my heart. Pak Jokowi never directed anything, never ordered anything, yes, but of course we are politics with faith," said Ara after accompanying Prabowo to attend the PGI event in Salemba, Jakarta, Friday, January 19.

Ara then revealed the advice of one of the founders of PDIP who is also his father, Sabam Sirait, that politics must be sincere in helping the weak and defending the right.

"I was taught that Pak Sabam, the founder of the PDI, to do politics is sacred, defends the truth and helps the weak," he said.

Although it was his decision to leave PDIP to follow Jokowi, Ara ensured that the head of state would never give the government to leave the bull party and turn to support Prabowo.

"Pak Jokowi never said anything, never instructed anything but I believe Pak Jokowi's heart and mind are the same," he said.
