Kaesang Joke: I Am The Chairman Of The Indonesian Santri Party

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep joked that he was the general chairman of the Indonesian santri party while attending the Selawat and Tabligh Akbar events at Tegallega Field, Bandung City, West Java.

"Introducing, my name is Kaesang Pangarep, I am the general chairman of PSI, the Indonesian santri party," said Kaesang in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 27.

Kaesang's joke was greeted with laughter from the public and students who were present at the Tabligh Akbar event on Friday, January 26 evening.

However, the youngest son of President Joko Widodo immediately corrected his words by explaining that the letter 'S' referred to in abbreviation means solidarity. Kaesang also had concerns that PSI founders would be angry with his statement.

"Solidarity, solidarity. Indonesian Solidarity Party. Later when I change it, the founders of the party will be angry," he added.

During the event, Kaesang also asked for support in choosing the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka. He also informed the people of Gibran that his eldest brother was.

"I, as his younger brother Mas Gibran, Mr. Prabowo's vice presidential candidate, I have permission to leave it to all of my friends. My brother, Mas Gibran, the person who used to order water, (I was told) to fill the water in the bath (bath). I don't need to talk, "said Kaesang.

The event was also attended by the wife of Kaesang, Elina Gudono, Secretary General (Secretary General) of the PSI DPP Raja Juli Antoni, Secretary General of Pandawa Lima Ryano Panjaitan, Habib Zaidan bin Haidar bin Yahya, and Habib Anis Bin Haidar Bin Yahya.
