Honda Announces Prologue Price, Its First Electric Car Priced Starts At IDR 700 Million

JAKARTA - After being officially launched in September last year, Honda has now announced the price of Prologue, an SUV that marks Honda's first step in presenting pure electric vehicles (EVs).

Lance Woelfer, Assistant Vice President of Honda National Auto Sales, stated that this model is a strategic step for companies towards environmentally friendly mobility, in line with their plan to launch 100 percent of zero-emission vehicles by 2040.

"Prologue is a significant addition to our ranks, with the Honda dealer network ready. We can't wait to welcome our customers to experience driving in our first all-electric SUV," Woelfer said, quoted from the company's official website, Friday, January 26.

Prologue comes in five variants, consisting of two types of EX with a single electric motor (2WD) and dual motors (4WD), two Touring variants (2WD and 4WD), as well as an Elite variant with a dual motor drive.

The price of Prologue starts from 48,795 US dollars or around Rp771.2 million for the EX 2WD type, up to a highest price of 59,295 US dollars or around Rp937.1 million for the Elite variant. All these prices include shipping costs.

Honda Prologue, built on Ultium's General Motors (GM) platform, introduces custom-tuned suspensions to enhance unique driving convenience and experience. The company also pays special attention to interior convenience, adopting inspired designs from models such as Civic, HR-V, Accord, and CR-V, using high-quality materials.

This vehicle is powered by a battery with a capacity of 85 kWh, allowing for a range of up to 482 km with one charge. The prologue can be charged with 11.5 kW of home electricity from 0 to 100 percent in less than 8 hours. This vehicle is also compatible with DC 155 kW fast charging, adding a distance of 104 km in just 10 minutes.
