Apple Podcast Will Show Transcripts On IOS 17.4 Update

JAKARTA Apple Podcast, an audio content streaming app, will get a transcript feature in the iOS 17.4. This new feature is already visible in the beta version released on Friday, January 26.

Transcripts are very useful for finding certain words or phrases in podcast episodes. This feature is also useful for Apple Podcast users who are unable to listen to audio, but want to know the content.

When the user plays one podcast episode, the transcript will appear on the screen. This transcript is automatic so that users can already see the text snippet even though the episode they are listening to has just been published.

Your episode will soon be available to listen to and the transcript will be available soon after. There will be a brief delay when we process your transcript," Apple said in an official statement.

To view the transcript during the play episode, users only need to view the detailed page of the episode they are listening to. After that, touch and hold the episode until the Apple Podcast displays the transcript view option.

Unfortunately, the language for this transcript is still limited. Users can only see a few languages for now, including English, French, German, and Spanish. Apple will add more languages in the near future.

For the record, the transcript will only appear in the latest episode when iOS 17.4 is released. Apple will add a transcript in a longer episode, but the process is not short and maybe users will have to wait longer to see the transcript.
