Porsche Officially Releases The Latest Generation Of Tigers In EV Version In Singapore

JAKARTA - Ten years after its first launch, Porsche has now introduced the second generation of Macan models in Singapore in its electric vehicle (EV) version. This car comes with a fully new design, powertrain, and technology.

"We are bringing the Tigers to a completely new level with incredible E-Performance, the latest Driver Experience, and a very impressive design," said Oliver Blume, Chairman of Executive Board Porsche AG, as reported by the company's official website, Friday, January 26.

The SUV dimension covers a length of 4,784 mm, a width of 1,938 mm, a height of 1,622 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,979 mm. Its dynamic look is reinforced by a installed 22-inch rim.

The exterior is equipped with two four-point DRL light units that confirm the car design. The leading light module with an optional matrix LED technology is positioned slightly lower at the front end.

Porsche retains the flyline design with a flat rear window, while the side is combined with a frameless door and glass that gives the impression of luxury and sporty.

On the inside, the EV Tigers are equipped with a 12.6-inch free-standing display, consisting of a curved cluster instrument and a 10.9-inch central screen. Passengers, for the first time, can see information about tuning infotainment systems or video streaming via an optional 10.9-inch screen when the car is piloted.

The infotainment system is based on Android Automotive OS and is supported by the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) as the standard to provide the best computational performance. Through the 'Hey Porsche' sound system, users can make various arrangements such as suggesting route and stop chargers as fast as a flash.

Built on the Premium Electric Platform (PPE) architecture with a voltage of 800V, Tiger 4, as the standard type, powered by electric motors with a magnitude of 408 ps and a torque of 650 Nm. While the Turbo variant has the highest power of 639 ps with a powerful torque of 1,130 Nm.

Thus, this model can reach speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds for the standard type and as fast as 3.3 seconds for Turbo. Both have the highest speed of 220 km/hour and 260 km/hour, respectively.

Equipped with a lithium-ion electric battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh (95 kWh active), this car can cover a distance of 613 km for the standard type and 591 km for the Turbo variant. DC 270 kW fast charging allows this car to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes. The EV Tigers are also compatible with 11 kW charging for use in residential areas.

To improve comfort, this model will be equipped with a Porsche Active Suspension Management system, two-valve damping technology, air suspension, rear-axle transverse lock, and various other features.

Production of this utility model will be carried out at a Porsche-owned factory in Leipzig, and the first unit is scheduled to be delivered to customers in the second half of this year. Since 2014, the German brand has managed to deliver as many as 800,000 Macan units worldwide, and it is hoped that this EV version will continue this success.
