Indonesian U-20 National Team Tests Against Thailand, Indra Sjafri Wants To Find The Best Player
JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team will undergo a test match against Thailand at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, on Friday, January 26, 2024.
Indra Sjafri as the coach explained that the agenda was one of the efforts to find the best players to the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile.
This trial agenda is the first match carried out by Garuda Muda after undergoing a series of training camps in Qatar since December 2023. Despite being the first test match during the training camp agenda, Indra Sjafri explained that to face Thailand his team did not make special preparations.
"There is nothing special to prepare against the first trial (Thailand). UUji coba is the process of forming the U-20 Indonesian national team," said Indra Sjafri when met on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Madya Stadium, Senayan.

Furthermore, the coach said that apart from being an effort to find the best players, this test match against Thailand is also a means to see the capabilities of the players.
"The test function provides a stimulus for the players to see the players' abilities. How tactical individuals are, their group is tactical, and how they carry out the tactical team we want," he said.
As a first test match, Indra Sjafri will be total in an effort to see the abilities of each player. One of the things he will do is provide playing opportunities for all U-20 Indonesian national team players.
"This (against Thailand) is the first trial. The first step is of course we will try all the players. Therefore, we will change 12 players with three slots," said the coach.
Given the player's rotation plan, the player's condition will be the most highlighted. Regarding that, Indra Sjafri emphasized that so far the players are in good condition and ready to appear.
"The new training period has been injured," he joked.
"All the players are in good condition and ready," said Indra Sjafri.
