KPK Calls Corruption Cases Of The Ministry Of Manpower's TKI Protection System Not Related To The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) emphasized that the handling of cases of alleged corruption in the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) at the 2012 Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) was not related to the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) contestation.It is known that Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin, who is now a vice presidential candidate (cawapres), is the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration (Menakkertrans), is currently called the Ministry of Manpower when the alleged corruption occurred."I want to convey related to the development of this case, I want to convey that this case has nothing to do with the current political contestation," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata to reporters, Thursday, January 25.There was no political element in handling the case because the investigation began in 2019. However, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic."Because there is COVID, it was delayed for 2 years. This is also a temporary delicti in various regions as well as in Malaysia if not the wrong locus delicti," he said.In fact, the execution process was carried out before the Pilpers contestation began. To the end, currently, three suspects have been named."An exposure was carried out around March 2023 after conducting an investigation for more than 2 years due to COVID-19 constraints, and then this sprindik was published around June or July 2023, meaning that long before the current political contestation and I make sure it has nothing to do with it at all," said Alex.Meanwhile, the KPK officially named three suspects in the case. They are the former Director General (Dirjen) of Manpower and Transmigration Placement, Reyna Usman (RU); Secretary of the Ministry of Manpower Planning and Development Agency (Barenbang), I Nyoman Darmanta (IND); and Director of PT Adi Inti Mandiri, Karunia (KRN).Of the three suspects, only Reyna Usman and I Nyoman Darmanta have been detained.Meanwhile, the suspect Karunia was asked to cooperate in attending the scheduled examination.
"The investigative team detained the suspects RU and IND for the first 20 days, starting from January 25 to February 13 at the KPK detention center," said Alex.They are suspected of being under Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
