Nintendo Stops Online Services Nintendo 3DS And Wii U On April 8

JAKARTA - Nintendo has announced that it will start turning off its online services, namely Nintendo 3DS and Wii U on April 8.

"At 4 pm PDT on April 8, 2024, online games and other functions that use online communications will end for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U software," the company wrote in its official announcement quoted Thursday, January 25.

Thus, online cooperative games, internet rankings, data distribution, and all other online services that include functions such as friends lists and online multiplayers will be discontinued as well.

"Please note that in the event of an event that complicates the continuation of online services for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U software, we may have to stop the service earlier than planned," he added.

However, players will still be able to use game features and modes that do not require online communication.

In addition, it should also be noted that the ability to download games purchased and update data will still be available even after the online service is turned off.

But other features, such as SpotPass, will stop functioning because they use online communications. Two online services that still function in Nintendo 3DS are Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter.
