Pangdam Cenderawasih Denies The Issue Of The Statue Of The Jesus Bomb That Will Be Founded In Sugapa Contains Bombs

Pangdam XVII / Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. Izak Pangemanan denied the rumors circulating in the statue of the Lord Jesus which will be established by the TNI in Sugapa, the capital of Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua containing "bombs".

"The issue was deliberately spread by irresponsible groups, especially the construction of the statue of Jesus which was initiated by Infantry Battalion 330/TD as a form of love for the community in place of duty," said Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Major General Izak Pangemanan in Jayapura as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 24.

Previously, soldiers in assignments in the area had also carried out similar territorial activities, such as Yonif 328/Dirgahayu who built the Cross Statue at the Antioxia Church.

After that, continued with the replacement battalion, namely Battalion 305/Tengkorak which built a church in Mamba Village, as well as Yonif 330/TD which will build the Statue of Jesus.

"It is impossible for the Statue of Jesus to contain 'bombs' which will at any time explode and kill Sugapa people," said Major General Izak while admitting that the Intan Jaya Regional Government had stopped the construction of a statue of Jesus.

Pangdam XVII / Cenderawasih admitted, from reports received in addition to rejection of the construction of the statue of the Lord Jesus, it also rejected the operation of the mining area "Blok Wabu".

In fact, the location of the mining has not yet been worked on because the Intan Jaya Regional Government and the Central Papua Provincial Government have not issued recommendations.

That's why people are asked not to be easily provoked because if the mining area operates first there is socialization to the community.

"Let's maintain security in the area until the Land of Peace is realized and there will be no more bloodshed," hoped Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih.
