Partnering With Sampoerna University, WIR Group Presents Blockchain-Based Authentication System
JAKARTA WIR GROUP, an immersive technology company and web3, developed a blockchain-based diploma authentication system. This system will be implemented at Sampoerna University.
As the first university in Indonesia to implement a blockchain authentication system, President Sampoerna University, Marshall Schott, said he was proud of this collaboration. Marshall believes that this system will improve technology in the education sector.
Marshall also wants to show Sampoerna University's commitment to implementing technology. In addition to building campus facilities with advanced technology, these international universities will implement technology in their systems.
We are always committed to technology, especially advanced technology. And for me, this is the natural evolution of our commitment to creativity and innovation," Marshall said after signing a cooperation agreement with WIR Group on Wednesday, January 24.
Meanwhile, Head of Blockchain Aldi Raharja said that they wanted to contribute to building new technology in Indonesia. By presenting blockchain-based authentication systems, the identification process can be much more efficient.

"With this blockchain, it is hoped that the verification process can be seamless without having to come to campus first, use stamps, photocopies, continue to prove that this is genuine. With the blockchain, this can be more efficient," explained Aldi.
Looking at the work system, blockchain can make it easier to check diplomas so that students don't have to go to campus to legalize their diplomas. The data on this blockchain cannot be changed with the origin and owner of the diploma being able to know who saw their diplomas.
Everyone who has it will control his own diploma. Even with whom he will share his diploma, it will be discovered. If now we give the digital files, for example to the company, after that we don't know where the files are," said Aldi.
Apart from Sampoerna University, WIR Group will implement this digital authentication system to several other universities. The technology company told VOI that the system will be implemented to five to six other campuses.
However, the implementation of this blockchain-based authentication system is still being discussed so that WIR Group has not been able to reveal the name of the campus. However, WIR Group said that the application of authentication at other universities will be carried out this year.
