Myanmar Citizen Who Slipped From The Ship Was Found Dead In The Barito River

PALANGKA RAYA - A foreign citizen (WNA) from Yangon City, Myanmar named Htet Myat Lin (22) who drowned in the Barito River, South Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan for three days, was found dead.

The field coordinator of the Palangka Raya Basarnas, Ridwan in Buntok, said that the body was found by the Joint SAR Team about 14 km from the point where the victim fell from the TB ship. Hub XVI when it was moving ships.

"The victim was found today (Wednesday 24/1) at 08.00 WIB in a state of death and floating in the river," said Ridwan, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 24.

The Joint SAR Team immediately took the victim's body to the Jenamas Health Center using a speedboat.

"Various efforts have been made by the team for two days to find the whereabouts of the victim because the person concerned was reported drowned on Sunday (21/1) morning. Until finally there were residents who reported that they had found the body," he said.

Ridwan also emphasized that the victim slipped from the top of the ship until it sank and was found dead.

"The victim purely slipped and there was no element of intent," he explained.
