Ahead Of The Release Of Self-titled Album, Ihsahn Throws Single The Distance Between Us
JAKARTA - The frontman of the black metal band Emperor, Ihsahn, will release his new self-titled album on February 16, 2024 through the Candlelight.
This progressive Norwegian metal visionist bravely pushed for the realm of his creative expressionism even further with the offerings of his eighth studio album.
This release will include two versions of the album that are related to each other in melodies: one metal, one fully inclined, both created a masterpiece influenced by cinematics that is simply and must have been titled "Ihshan".
Ahead of its release date, Ihsahn shared the third single of the album, "The Distance Between Us", which introduces us on a more melancholic and broad release side.
This song is accompanied by a hateful video clip, a continuation of the conceptual storyline that was spread in the previous single, "Pilgrimage To Oblivion" and "Twice Born", all of which were filmed by Shaun Hodson at Loki Films.
"The first two singles were taken from the beginning of the conceptual narrative, resulting in arrogance and the determination needed. With this last single, we are getting closer to the end of the story and therefore both music and lyrics express a more reflective and melancholic perspective," Ihshan commented on his new song.
Although the musical journey is often open, the incredible rhythm and movement control displayed along the album "Ihsahn" shows his work as a songwriter and composer in the most focused and confident conditions.
Sebuah usaha besar dan yang Ihsahn akui sebagai salah satu proyek paling rumit yang pernah dia lakukan, adalah sebuah lubang kelinci labirin rancangannya sendiri, skala ambisinya segera terlihat.

Fully produced and self-printed for three years, the metal version album was mixed by Jens Bogren, while the orchestra version was mixed by Joel Dollié and both versions were mastered by Tony Lindgren.
Ihsahn freely admitted that the process pushed him to the limit of his ability. Simply put, it starts with the piano.
