Fortuner Driver Teenager Who Hit 2 People To Death In Banjarbaru Becomes A Suspect

BANJARBARU - The Banjarbaru Police, South Kalimantan, has named a minor car driver involved in a traffic accident to kill two people as a child facing the law (ABH) alias a suspect.

"The Traffic Unit investigator has raised his status to an investigation and designated the car driver as a child who is in conflict with the law," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Banjarbaru Police, AKP Syahruji, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 22.

According to Syahruji, Satlantas investigators handled traffic accidents through the Juvenile Criminal Justice System in accordance with Article 32 paragraph (2) of Law Number 11 of 2012.

Syahruji explained that the Banjarbaru Police Traffic Unit investigators also charged AJ with Article 310 paragraph (4) as referred to in paragraph 3 of every person driving a motorized vehicle whose negligence resulted in a traffic accident with a seriously injured victim being punished with a maximum imprisonment of five years.

Although it was designated as ABH because it was still a minor, investigators did not detain AJ and were subject to mandatory reporting twice a week in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2012.

Previously, AJ was involved in a fatal accident that killed two passengers of a minibus at the Mekatani Tuntung Payung Melan Jenderal Ahmad Yani kilometer 29 Banjarbaru on Thursday (18/1) at around 03.40 WITA.

The accident began when the Silver Isuzu bus Nopol KT 7702 EG, which was traveling by 18 people, was turning around U Turn from Banjarbaru to enter Jalan Bina Putra to the airport.

Meanwhile, from the direction of Banjarmasin, AJ's white Fortuner car, driving the DA 12 IA, hit Isuzu hard, causing two passengers to die.

Two victims were killed, namely the driver of an Isuzu car named Mirza P who suffered injuries all over his body and another passenger, Hamida suffered injuries to his head, and his left hand.

Meanwhile, 16 other passengers who suffered serious injuries and minor injuries were rushed to the Idaman Banjarbaru Regional Hospital and Syifa Medika RO Ulin Hospital Banjarbaru.
