Profile Of Zilvia Iskandar And Retno Pinasti Who Compactly Appear Beautiful As Moderators For The Second Candidate Debate

The vice presidential debate was held again on Sunday, January 21 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, South Jakarta and was attended by the three vice presidential candidates, namely Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), GIbran Rakabuming Raka, and Mahfud MD.

In this second vice presidential debate, the three candidates are challenged to discuss three topics related to sustainable development and the environment, natural resources and energy, food, agrarianism, indigenous peoples, and villages.

The running of this vice presidential debate was guided by two female moderators, namely Zilvia Iskandar and Retno Pinasti who were appointed directly by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) some time ago. So who are the two women who are in the public spotlight? Here's the summary of the profile!

Retno Pinasti

Retno Pinasti is an alumni of the English faculty at Gadjah Mada University and started her career as a journalist on TVRI's private television station from 1997 to 2001. Where she moved and continued her career on Trans TV.

In addition to living his career as a journalist, Retno also continued his education at the University of London, England. While studying, Retno worked as a journalist video at Independent Television News (ITN) in 2002.

A year passed, Retno decided to return to Indonesia in 2003 and have a career on SCTV. Retno's career was continued in 2005 where she managed to become a journalist at Voice of America (VOA), Washington DC, United States.

6 years of working at VOA, Retno returned to SCTV in 2011. Previously, in 2019, Retno had also been a moderator, at that time she was the moderator of the presidential debate. Now, Retno is the Editor in Chief on SCTV and Indosiar since March 2022.

Zilvia Iskandar

The second moderator for the 2024 vice presidential debate is Zilvia Iskandar, who graduated from Binus University by majoring in English in 2012. During her education, Zilvia was known to be active in organization.

He was once one of the presenters on Binus TV for 2 years. Zilvia's activity has also been seen since the school where she has been involved in several competitions such as careful intelligence, Mathematics Olympics, poetry reading, regional tourism ambassadors, debate and presentations.

Therefore, Zilvia was declared to have graduated with the title Summa cum laude from the Binus University campus. For his career, Zilvia started his career in 2012 by participating in the 8th batch of Journalist Development Programs on Metro TV.

After undergoing 2 months of journalistic training, Zilvia began to be deployed in coverage tasks in the field. It is known that during his career on Metro TV, Zilvia covered more frequent political events such as the Pilkada to the presidential election.

It didn't stop there, Zilvia's career began to improve by being trusted to be a presenter on the Headline News program and the Metro Malam program in 2013.

No kidding, Zilvia has received several prestigious awards such as the 2017 Indonesian Broadcasting Commission Award, as the Best News Presenter.
