Bawaslu Will Check Allegations Of Violation Of Prabowo-Gibran Open Campaign
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) will check for alleged violations of the general meeting campaign or open campaign conducted by presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in West Java, Sunday, January 21.
Prabowo conducted an open campaign in Majalengka and Cibinong, West Java, where the zone should be devoted to an open campaign for presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.
"Regarding this information, especially the general meeting campaign for the participants or campaign team of candidate pair number 2 in West Java, on January 21, 2024, we will check first, yes. We will inform you soon," said member of the Indonesian Bawaslu Lolly Suhenty in Jakarta, quoted from Antara.
Lolly explained that the provisions for the general meeting campaign schedule have been stated in the attachment to the General Election Commission (KPU) Decree Number 78 of 2024.
Based on the attachment, the campaign for the general meeting in West Java on January 21, 2024 is scheduled for the candidate pair Ganjar-Mahfud.
Meanwhile, the campaign schedule in West Java for candidate pairs Prabowo-Gibran is set for January 22, 2024 and candidate pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar on January 23, 2024.
According to Lolly, the general meeting campaign is considered to have violated the rules if it is carried out not on schedule. However, Bawaslu will continue to explore Prabowo-Gibran's open campaign activities in West Java on Sunday.

The 2024 General Election Campaign will last for 21 days, from January 21 to February 10.
The Indonesian KPU has determined three participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.
The 2024 election campaign period will take place from 28 November 2023 to 10 February 2024. After the campaign period, there will be a calm period on 11-13 February 2024. Then, the voting schedule will take place simultaneously on 14 February 2024.
