Regarding LPDP, Coordinating Minister For The Economy: The Scheme Is Still Being Revised
BANDUNG - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto explained that the scheme of the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) is still being revised by related parties.
"We are still discussing the revision of the LPDP. So, we'll just have to wait until it's finished where the LPDP is not only for education, but for training," he said when met at the Leaders' Offsite Meeting at a hotel in Bandung, West Java, Friday night, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, January 20.
This is in line with President Joko Widodo's proposal to perfect the LPDP system. In fact, the President had mentioned that he wanted additional LPDP scholarship recipients for the next period.
Therefore, Airlangga also revealed other options so that LPDP funds are diverted into the endowment fund of the tourism sector. However, some of these options are still being studied by the government.
"PR (Homework) from the President to perfect LPDP, especially not only for education, but also for training and adding to become the endowment fund for the tourism sector," he said.
According to him, the Pre-Employment Card Program that has been carried out previously has helped Indonesians who want to have and improve skills. Through a number of trainings in it, participants can develop their competence so that they are ready to become entrepreneurs and work somewhere.
"So, one of the trainings that becomes success stories is through the Pre-Employment Card. When our education is limited but with more massive training, it can also help people to get jobs or return to work," he said.
