Soetta Airport Customs Thwarts Smuggling Of 8 Kg Of Shabu From Hawaii And Mexico

TANGERANG - A total of 8 Kilograms (Kg) of methamphetamine through LCD Screen Electronic Digital were thwarted by joint Soekarno-Hatta Customs and Excise officers at Cargo Terminal, Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta), Tangerang City.

He explained that this disclosure began when the joint team suspected that the shipment items with the number AWB 785129206xx with a statement as "LCD Screen Electronic Digital" and recipients on behalf of AR in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta.

The sender came from a shop with the initials RG in Hawaii, US on October 23, 2023. As a result, an examination was carried out by his party.

"Only transiting at the intended virtual delivery address. The evidence is then handed over to the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency for further handling," he said.

Furthermore, the second action, said Gatot, against shipments with the number AWB 7817212xx was notified as "ACHRYLIC FRAME" for recipient E in Gambir, Central Jakarta, which was sent by individuals with the initials SLF in Guadalaraja, Mexico on December 5, 2023.

In this case, joint officers found irregularities in the package sent and immediately continued with a physical examination of the goods.

"When opened, the package was found to contain a white solid clear crystal covered with resin weighing 5,100 grams," he said.

On that basis, his party followed up by conducting an examination at the Soekarno-Hatta Customs laboratory. The result was positive for narcotics class I.

For the actions of the suspects, his party suspects that Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics carries a maximum threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment.
