The Mantap Drainage Channel Allegedly Affected By The Construction Of Ruko, SDN Citerep Serang Banten Submerged By Floods
SERANG - Heavy rains that flushed Serang City caused two classrooms at Citerep Elementary School, Walantaka District, Serang City, Banten, to be flooded. Students are forced to move classrooms to carry out teaching and learning activities. The head of SDN Citerep Madnur said that apart from the flooded school grounds, water also entered two classrooms. As a result, 78 students from the two classes had to move to another class to do KBM."Class 1 and 2 students had to be transferred to higher-located classes, so that the teaching and learning process would continue," he said in Serang, Banten, Antara, Friday, January 19.Madnur said that the flood was caused by heavy rains and drainage channels that did not run optimally, thus making SDN Citerep inundated as high as 5-30 centimeters.According to him, if there is heavy rain, Citerep Elementary School often experiences inundation but does not enter the classroom."Indeed, it's been frequent, but usually the yard is submerged, but this time the water has entered the classroom," he said. For temporary handling, the school carried out a suction using a water pump so that the inundation receded quickly. He also hopes that the drainage channel in front of SDN Citerep will be repaired immediately.Meanwhile, the sub-district head of Walantaka Muslim Sholeh said that this flood occurred due to clogged drainage channels due to casting by several shophouses around the school."This water entered the classroom, the water level was approximately 30 cm. Yesterday I also had time to go up, but last Monday it didn't interfere with KBM. So in front of the drainage conditions were higher than the school grounds," he explained.
Muslims claim to have coordinated with the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD), to deal with flooding that often occurs at Citerep Elementary School. He said that in Walantaka District only SDN Citerep experienced flooding when it rained quite high.
