India Open 2024: Fajar/Rian Travel To Quarter Finals
JAKARTA - The men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto managed to make a comeback and qualify for the quarter-finals of the India Open 2024.
The world number seven pair fought to beat Danish doubles, Rasmus Kjaer/Frederik Sogaard, in a rubber game with a score of 21-15, 13-21, and 21-17 on Thursday, January 18, 2024, WIB night.
This is the second quarter-final of Fajar/Rian in the two tournaments they participated in earlier this year. Previously, they also reached this round at the Malaysia Open 2024 last week, but then failed to reach the semifinals.

Fajar/Rian are one of two Indonesian representatives who qualified for the last eight in India. Previously, another ticket was obtained by the men's singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
Actually, Indonesia has five representatives who qualified for the second round of this Super 750 BWF level event. However, the other three lost at the hands of their opponents.
The three representatives who were eliminated were Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Jonatan Christie's men's singles, and the mixed doubles Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.
Gregoria lost against Singapore's Yeo Jia Min. Jonathan was beaten by Malaysia's singles, Lee Zii Jia. Finally, Rehan/Lisa was stopped by the Taipei Chinese pair, Ye Hong Wei/Lee Chia Hsin.
