BRI Announces Paying Interim Dividend Of IDR 12.7 Trillion, Sheet Of IDR 84
JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk announced that it has paid interim dividends to its shareholders today, Thursday, January 18, 2024.
Previously, in the disclosure of information issued by the company, BRI will distribute dividends worth Rp. 12.7 trillion or Rp. 84,- (eighty-four rupiah) per share will be paid, which amounting to Rp. 6.8 trillion will be deposited to the government and Rp. 5.9 trillion will be distributed to the public.
BRI President Director Sunarso revealed that BRI's decision to distribute the interim dividend could not be separated from the company's brilliant performance until the end of the third quarter of 2023.
Until the end of September, BRI was able to maintain sustainable profitability as well as credit growth and solid collection of Third Party Funds (DPK) along with well-maintained asset quality. On the other hand, BRI is also able to maintain adequate liquidity and sufficient capital.
"BRI Group's success in maintaining this positive performance is shown from assets that on a consolidated basis increased 9.93 percent year on year (yoy) to Rp1,851.97 trillion," said Sunarso in his statement to the media, Thursday, January 18.
He added that the asset growth was also accompanied by profit in 9 months which reached Rp44.21 trillion or grew 12.47 percent yoy.
Sunarso said, in terms of the intermediation function, until the end of September 2023, BRI succeeded in encouraging lending to grow 12.53 percent yoy to Rp1,250.72 trillion. Specifically, MSME lending was also recorded to grow 11.01 percent from Rp935.86 trillion at the end of the third quarter of 2022 to Rp1,038.90 trillion at the end of the third quarter of 2023, so that BRI's MSME loan portion of total credit reached 83.06 percent.
BRI is also able to carry out its intermediation function by being balanced with good risk management.
"This is reflected in the consolidated ratio of BRI NPL which is manageable and continues to decline at the level of 3.07 percent," continued Sunarso.
On the other hand, BRI prepared sufficient reserves as an anticipatory step. BRI's NPL Coverage was recorded at 228.65 percent by using the backup to conduct a written-off on the worsening credit.
In the event of collecting Third Party Funds (DPK), BRI managed to record a positive performance.
Until the end of the third quarter of 2023, BRI's DPK recorded positive growth to Rp1,290.29 trillion. Cheap funds (CASA) are the main driver of BRI's DPK growth, which year on year increased by 13.21 percent.
