Review Of The Kalafan Rambut Film: When The Fertility Becomes A Disaster In The Family
JAKARTA - The production house Voxinemaa released their first horror film genre titled Rumah Kafan. The film, directed by Helfi Kardit, is scheduled to air on January 18.
In this film, there are a number of talented Indonesian artists such as Bulan Sutena, Catherine Wilson, Yama Carlos, and other players. Broadly speaking, the film Rambut Kafan tells the story of Anwar (Yama Carlos) and his daughter, Tari (Monday Sutena) who live in adequate family.
Their lives were fine until finally their mother had to experience miscarriage and give birth to an imperfect fetus. In addition, the presence of Anwar's younger brother, Suban (Aiman Ricky) who continued to ask for a legacy from his older brother seemed to coincide with the terror that haunts Tari and Anwar.
Seeing this discrepancy, the dance that did not accept the death of her mother finally carried out a tense investigation in which she found various unreasonable things about her family's wealth.
Since the beginning of this film, the audience has been given a tense atmosphere, this is felt from faint visuals and music backgrounds which, although not excessive, are enough to make the audience seem to be preparing for the surprise to be given.
The bloody action shown also supports the fear that has been built by Helfi Kardit from the start. Even though it shows bloody scenes, it doesn't make the audience feel the scene is excessive.
The main player of Bulan Sutena who plays Dance even though it's the first time she plays in a big screen film with a horror genre, her acting deserves thumbs up. The reason is that she can show the right emotions so that the audience can feel what she feels.
Apart from Bulan Sutena, the acting of Nita Gunawan, who is also the first time playing a film, is included in a satisfactory category. Although his role is only as an extra, his acting helps increase fear in the audience with the expressions and movements shown.
Furthermore, of course, in this film there is a plot twist that adds to the excitement of the story. The plot twist that was built in this film was unpredictable from the start and was enough to surprise the audience when the truth began to be revealed.

Although the story raised in this film is quite light, unfortunately the execution in presenting the story was too long and seemed boring for the audience. Fortunately, this can be covered with jumpscare-jumpscare given at several moments so that the audience can still enjoy the story.
In addition, the emergence of new characters in this film seems not to explain its origin. I don't know if it means giving a mysterious impression or if there is something missing from the cooking in the story. Of course this is enough to confuse the audience with the purpose of this role.
Finally, the appearance of this 'hairman' ghost is not shown optimally possible. This raises the question of what kind of creature actually terrorizes the Arwan family? The audience is even more focused on the dark science rituals carried out in this film.
