KPU Announces 11 Panelists Of The Vice Presidential Debate On Sunday, January 21, Here's The List

The KPU announced the names of 11 panelists of the fourth presidential election (Pilpres) 2024 which will be attended by three vice presidential candidates at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, on Sunday (21/1).

KPU commissioner August Mellaz said the 11 names had confirmed their willingness to become panelists and were quarantined two days before the debate, namely on Friday (19/1).

"For panelists, we have received confirmation of the willingness of the 11 people we will quarantine, later on 19 (January) Friday," August Mellaz said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 17.

The panelists consisted of the majority of academics and some of them were practitioners who were members of civil society organizations.

The names of the panelists for the fourth debate of the 2024 presidential election, namely Prof. Abrar Saleng (Agrarian Law Officer and Natural Resources at Hasanuddin University), Dr. Arie Sudjito (Village Sociologist/Fisipol Lecturer Universitas Gadjah Mada).

Prof. Arif Satria (Political Ecology Officer/Rector of the Bogor Agricultural Institute), Dewi Kartika (Ahli Agrarian/Secretary General of the Agrarian Reform Consortium), Fabby Tumiwa (Executive Transitional Energy/Director of the Institute for Essential Services Reform), and Prof. Hariadi Kartodihardjo (Expert of Natural Resources and Environment / Professor of the Faculty of Forestry and Environment IPB).

Next is Prof. Ridwan Yahya (Secretary General of the Alliance of Indigenous Peoples of the Archipelago).

Prof. Sudharto P. Hadi (Environmental Management Expert/Rector of Diponegoro University 2010'2015), Prof. Sulistyowati Irianto (Legal Anthropology Professor of the University of Indonesia), and Tubagus Furqon Sofhani (Official Planning and Rural Planning of the Bandung Institute of Technology).

The fourth debate of the KPU featuring three vice presidential candidates, namely Muhaimin Iskandar (cawapres number 1), Gibran Rakabuming Raka (cawapres number 2), and Mahfud Md. (cawapres number 3) raises issues, including natural resources, indigenous peoples, the environment, energy, and agrarian.
