LG Electronics Officially Opens Electric Vehicle Charging Plant In Texas, USA
JAKARTA - LG Electronics, a company from South Korea, officially opened its first US factory specifically dedicated to the production of electric vehicle chargers (EVs).
The plant is located in Fort Worth, Texas, and marks a significant step in supporting the growth of EV charging infrastructure in America.
As a global innovator, LG Electronics is committed to becoming part of the future by assembling electric vehicle charging stations.
"The electric vehicle charger business is LG's future growth engine, supporting the company's transformation into a smart solution company," said LG President Alec Jang, quoted in his official release, Tuesday, January 16.
The plant is planned to have an annual production capacity of more than 10,000 units, with plans to exceed the target over time. In addition, the plant will use 100 percent of environmentally friendly energy, demonstrating LG's commitment to sustainability.

Currently, the plant has successfully assembled AC Level 2 chargers with outputs of up to 11kW and connectors J1772. In the second quarter, LG will begin production of its first Level 3 DC charger, equipped with a large outdoor LCD touch screen and CCS1 and NACS connectors for fast charging up to 175kW. LG is also planning to launch the 350kW ultra-fast charger by 2024.
Fort Worth Mayor▁suami Parker appreciated LG's role and stressed the importance of this new factory for the city. He called it an extraordinary day for Fort Worth, with global leaders like LG opting to establish a manufacturing base in the US for electric vehicle chargers and creating new jobs.
