Gregoria Mariska Tunjung Is Not Satisfied With Her Appearance At The 2024 India Open
JAKARTA The women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung admitted that she was not satisfied with her appearance after making sure she qualified for the second round of the 2024 India Open.
The 24-year-old badminton player kept his hopes after winning two straight games 21-10 and 21-15 over China's Taipei representative, Sung Shuo Yun, on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, afternoon WIB.
Gregoria said the appearance in the first round of the BWF Super 750 event was not as desired. He still often makes his own mistakes.
"That is a record that must be improved in the next match," said the 2017 junior world champion after the match.
Gregoria performed really well in the first game. He stole a neat start and was not overtaken by his opponent. However, in the second game he had experienced fierce resistance.

Opponents were recorded twice after him and equalized the score. However, after the interval he managed to keep the difference in points until he won the game in 34 minutes.
"I'm also still adapting to the pitch and the weather conditions here are very cold. The temperature can really drop to three degrees Celsius," said Gregoria.
In the round of 16 Gregoria will meet Yeo Jia Min. This Singaporean women's singles qualified for the round of 16 after defeating China's Taipei representative, Wen Chi Hsu.
Previously, Gregoria and Yeo had met eight times. Of that number, Gregoria still leads a 6-3 winning-loss record, in which three of them occurred in their three latest clashes.
"Even though in the last few meetings I won, I didn't want to make a benchmark. I still want to try my best to give my best," said Gregoria.
