Examination Results, Police Denies The Car Of PDIP Chairman Parepare Rentak Because He Was Shot

The ParepaRE Police (Polres) of Parepare, South Sulawesi, revealed the identification results regarding the alleged car shooting of the PDIP chairman of Parepare City, Andi Mustafa Mappangara. The police denied any indications of the shooting after examining the condition of the car.

On Saturday night January 13, Andi Mustafa Mappangara visited his sick family at Hasri Ainun Habibie Regional Hospital, Parepare City. When he was discharged from the hospital, he saw the glass condition of his car cracked, and the initial suspicion was that it was aimed at the shot.

The Parepare Police Inafis team was deployed to check the condition of the white Wuling car belonging to the Head of PDIP Parepare. The results of the examination found cracks in the windshield of the car did not penetrate and showed no indication of shooting. The cracks are known to have originated in the car.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Parepare Police, Iptu Setiawan, confirmed that the news regarding the shooting of the PDIP Party Chairperson's car was not true.

"We have directly checked the victim's car, which was also witnessed by the Chairperson of PDIP Parepare. The windshield did not penetrate and there were no indications of shooting. The glass crack was found from inside (the car)," he said, Monday, January 15.

The chairman of the PDIP of Parepare City, Andi Mustafa Mappangara, also confirmed the police's statement, confirming that the condition of his car could not be categorized as the result of the shooting.

"So after we coordinated with the (Parepare) Police, the Deputy Chief of Police of the Head of the Reskim and the Head of the Intel Unit, we saw the condition of the Ril by examining the existing vehicles, for now the shooting has not been categorized," he said.

Until now, the police are still investigating the windshield suspected of being the target of the shooting.

"We need to re-explain to the public that straightening out these news so that misunderstandings or interpretations do not occur again, because we know that it is now entering a political year," he said.
