Roby Satria Questions Ethics When Momo Is Suspected Of Playing Geisha Song Commercially

JAKARTA - Roby Satria, Geisha guitarist uploaded a video on his Instagram account featuring Momo, a former Geisha vocalist singing the song Always Salah at a music concert.

Meanwhile, Salah is always one of the hits of Geisha who is on the album Anugerah Terindah (2009). At that time, Momo was the best known vocalist and Geisha personnel. But he decided to leave the band and get married in 2017.

In his uploaded statement, Roby mentioned that there were ethical problems in the music business. He saw that there were parties seeking personal gain.

"After we see this video, it seems that there are parties who intentionally, freely and unprofessionally provide space for the personal benefits of certain parties. Until I began to doubt the ethics of the Indonesian music business," Roby Satria wrote through his Instagram account, seen Monday, January 15.

Roby deserves to be furious, because he said there was an agreement with the label that all songs that Geisha had released were only allowed to be performed commercially by Geisha as a band.

"All @geishaindonesia songs can only be used commercially by the Geisha Band formation, which officially has an exclusive contract with the label and is agreed upon by business together on behalf of the group. So that it is not allowed to be commercialed personally to take personal advantage," he said.

The 37-year-old guitarist emphasized that she did not forbid Momo from singing her songs, but that the early Geisha singer was only allowed to sing them when playing with Geisha.

"And I Roby Satria as the owner of exclusive rights to the song does not prohibit and allow Momo to perform Geisha songs while commercialized with the Geisha Band Group," said Roby Satria.

"In your opinion, who are the individuals who take personal advantage of this. I am also confused, wonder and don't know the answer. Help find out together," he added.

At the end of his upload caption, Roby asked netizens, which one was better, 'Netizens want to see Momo perform alone or with Geisha?!'
