Accompanying Jokowi In Vietnam's Bilateral Meeting, Minister Of Industry Agus Disbursed A Number Of This Cooperation

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong at the Hanoi Presidential Palace, Vietnam.

In a meeting on Friday, January 12, RI and Vietnam agreed on a number of cooperations, including an increase in the target of new trade.

"In addition, the two countries have agreed to cooperate in the electric car and battery ecosystem as well as the energy transition," said Minister of Industry Agus in a written statement, Saturday, January 13.

Minister of Industry Agus added, RI-Vietnam also encourages cooperation in technology, information, and communication to encourage the advancement of the digital industry between the two countries.

"The two countries also agreed to strengthen cooperation in agriculture and fisheries. The signing of fisheries cooperation is a great momentum to encourage collaboration and investment in this field," he said.

President Jokowi said that Indonesia and Vietnam are committed to continuing to maintain regional economic stability and growth.

"Indonesia and Vietnam have agreed to continue to maintain regional economic stability and growth through the concrete implementation of ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific and support for Laos chairmanship in ASEAN," he said.

For information on Thursday, January 11, 2024, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang met with VinFast's ranks, namely the Vietnamese automotive company which expressed interest in disbursing funds for the construction of an electric vehicle company factory in Indonesia.

It is known that the incentives that can be given to the electric vehicle industry company include tax holidays, tax allowances, import duty incentives and Luxury Goods Sales Tax (PPnBM) incentives.

Companies can conduct market tests with imported CBU by utilizing zero percent import duty tax facilities and zero percent luxury goods tax, which is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Investment (BKPM) Number 6 of 2023.

At the production stage, the company can also take advantage of the zero percent tariff facility for the Completion Knock Down (CKD) or Incompletely Knock Down (IKD) import scheme regulated in the Minister of Industry Regulation (Permenperin) Number 29 of 2023.

Not only that, but the zero percent Luxury Goods Tax facility can also be utilized, if it reaches the minimum requirements of local content as mandated by Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 79 of 2023.
