This mode exists on almost all devices, including Chromebooks. This laptop with Google's ChromeOS operating system has a practical dark mode to activate. The following is how to activate Chromebook dark mode, quoted from Makeuseof.

1. Enable Dark Mode from Fast Settings

The easiest way to activate dark mode on Chromebooks is to use the Fast Settings panel. First, go to Fast Settings on your device by tapping on the bottom right of the screen.

After that, click the arrow with the caption Show Display Settings next to the right of the Night Light icon. If the View Settings are open, activate the dark mode by clicking the Dark Theme.

2. Enable Dark Mode Via Main Screen

Enable dark mode through Fast Settings is easy, but it's easier if you open it directly from the desktop screen. To do this, right-click on the screen using a mouse or touchpad, then click Set Wallpaper and Style.

When a wallpaper setting window appears, the user can see dark mode at the bottom of the window. When this mode is enabled, the entire window background will turn black. This setting does not apply to Chromebook applications.

3. Turn on Dark Mode for Windows and Apps

In addition to the two methods above, Chromebook users can apply the black background in windows and applications simultaneously using Chrome Flags, an essential feature in Chrome that is usually used by application developers.

First, open chrome://flags in Chrome. Once the tab for Flags appears, enter the dark word in the search box of the page. Later, Chrome will display the Automatic Dark Mode settings for Web Content.

This display is usually set in default state. Make sure to change the settings to Enabled or Activated. If so, click Restart to Chrome closed and re-open automatically. After that, the entire background will turn black.
