BMKG Bandung Reminds Residents In The River Bank To Beware Of Extreme Weather
BANDUNG - The Bandung Station Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) asked the public, especially those on the banks of the river to remain vigilant about the potential for extreme weather.
Head of Bandung Class 1 Geophysics Station BMKG Teguh Rahayu said that if the duration of the rain was more than two hours, the community was asked to evacuate and temporarily evacuate to a higher area.
"Especially for those who live on the riverbanks, they must be wary of. If the rain is high and does not stop, immediately evacuate to find safer areas," Teguh said while reviewing the floods in the Cikapundung River, Bandung, reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 12.
Teguh revealed that the Greater Bandung area itself will have the potential to face extreme weather for the next week or the period January 3-10, 2024.
"So the next seven days, for the morning the potential is cloudy to cloudy. For the day the intensity of moderate to heavy rain is moderate to heavy. For the night it rains light to moderately," he said.
