Bawaslu Follows Initial Study Of PHPB Reports On Election Violations
JAKARTA - The General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) needs time to prepare an initial study of a report from the Clean Election Law Player (PHPB) no later than two days after receiving the report.
Coordinator of the Division for Handling Violations, Data and Information of Bawaslu Puadi in the Ancol area, Pademangan, North Jakarta, Thursday, said that the regulation was stated in Article 15 Paragraph 1 of Bawaslu Regulation (Perbawaslu) Number 7 of 2022 concerning Handling of Election Violation Findings and Reports.
"Bawaslu has two days to prepare an initial study of incoming reports, whether they meet the formal/material requirements or not," Puadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 11.
Puadi assessed that the supervisor will proceed to the clarification stage to the reported party who is suspected of violating according to the reporter, if the results of the report study have met the requirements stipulated in Perbawaslu 7/2022.
If it turns out that the report does not meet the requirements, then the results of the study will be submitted to the reporter that the report does not meet the requirements.
The formal requirements include the name and address of the reporter and the reported party and the reporting time do not exceed the time period as referred to in Article 8 Paragraph 3 or paragraph 4 of Perbawaslu 7/2022.
Article 8 Paragraph 3 of Perbawaslu 7/2022 regulates the reporting period of no later than seven days from the discovery of alleged violations at the stage of holding the election.

Meanwhile, the material requirements include the time and place of the alleged election violation, description of the incident and evidence.
Puadi asked the public to understand very well when Bawaslu submitted the results of a study on alleged election violations, this was part of transparency.
He emphasized that the results of the Bawaslu study were not related to the final decision that the reported violated or violated the election administration.
