This Best-selling Car In England Now Comes With Mild-hybrid Technology

JAKARTA - Vauxhall Motors, the British automaker who is the parent of the Opel brand, which Stellantis also has, officially introduced Corsa's latest model, by bringing the first mid-hybrid technology to this model.

Corsa, which is also the UK's best-selling car predicate, is now present in various trims, namely Design, GS, and Ultimate, each with certain advantages.

Reporting from the brand's official website on Thursday, January 11, the New Corsa Hybrid Design variant is equipped with a 16-inch rim and chrom effect badge. This variant has the latest LED and Daytime Running Lights (DRL) headlights as lighting. Inside, there is a 10-inch touchscreen that can be integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Other features include driver assistance sensors and radars, such as Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Speed Sign Recognition, Driver Drowsiness Alert, Cruise Control, and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection.

The GS type, positioned as a medium trim, adds a touch of sporty to this model with contrasted black roofs, black A and B pillars, black touch brand logos, and 17-inch glossy black spots. Features like the front and back of the LED, sensors, and others present on the trim Design are also present as the standard on GS type.

Ultimate is the highest variant with leading features, including the IntelliLux LED Matrix light on the front for optimal lighting at night without the presence of other road users. Other advanced features include steering steering wheels and a heating chair, as well as standardized keyless entry at this type. A more sophisticated Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Automatic Emergency Braking and Traffic Sign Recognition, are also present at a higher level of sophistication.

In terms of performance, this hatchback is powered by a 1.2 liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor. This generates 100 dk and 136 dk of power, as well as a maximum torque of 205 Nm and 230 Nm. This system is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery that can charge its own power automatically under certain conditions. Girboks six dual-clutch accelerations are present to increase driving efficiency.

Vauxhall claims that hybrid technology on New Corsa Hybrid can save up to about 20 percent of fuel compared to conventional Corsa which uses a pure combustion engine (ICE). Ordering this model has been opened and will soon be delivered to customers in March in the UK. The initial price of Vauxhall New Corsa starts at 22,890 pounds (around Rp454.5 million).
