Platform X Releases Transparency Features To Add Labels To User Accounts

JAKARTA Platform X, formerly known as Twitter, announced that it has launched a new feature under the name Transparency to see the label embedded in the user's account.

With the Transparency feature, X wants to show how they treat user content. Each label added to the account will show a different type of handling.

"We're starting to give you more transparency regarding labels that we might apply to your account that affect how X treats your content," X said via Security on Thursday, January 11.

X also said that they had added labels to their platform's 16 million users. When the label is added, users will get notifications in the Notification section, to be precise in the All column.

This notification will read, We have added a temporary label to your account that may affect its reach. If users don't understand the addition of this label, they just need to tap on the notification to study the information.

Meanwhile, Premium X users who get the opportunity to see their label can provide input to X. Later, this input will be used to improve the Transparency feature.

Elon Musk, owner of X Corp, realized that this feature still has many flaws. Through his personal social media account, Musk said that, "There will be a lot of mistakes, but we will try to fix it quickly."

Therefore, input from users will be very important for the development of the feature. Unfortunately, X has not explained when this feature will be launched globally, but they promised to explain more in the near future.
