Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Targets RPP KEN To Be Completed In June This Year
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is targeting the Draft Government Regulation (RPP) on National Energy Policy (KEN) to be completed this year.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, as the Daily Chair of the National Energy Council (DEN) while chairing the 2024 DEN First session via video conference.
"We hope that the RPP KEN will be completed in June. It needs to be intensified for activities related to the completion of the RPP KEN," said Arifin, Thursday, January 11.
Just so you know, RPP KEN itself is a legal umbrella to realize national energy independence and resilience. This RPP regulates various aspects related to national energy, ranging from the energy mix, utilization of renewable energy, to the energy import policy.
The process of drafting RPP KEN has involved various parties, including related Ministries/Institutions, associations, and academics.
However, until now, RPP KEN is still in the process of harmonization at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
"As of December 2023, (DEN) has completed the finalization of the Inter-Ministerial Committee, consultation with the DPR, and harmonization with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Consultations with the DPR have been carried out twice in the form of FGD, while harmonization with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is still ongoing, just waiting for the plenary stage from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," explained member of the DDEN Musri MAwaleda.
In addition to the progress of RPP KEN, the session of the First DEN Member of 2024 also discussed the replacement of DEN members from the Elements of Interest as they are registered in the List of Permanent Candidates (DCT) for Legislative Members of the 2024 General Election.
Arifin stated that the process of replacing DEN members from the Elements of Interestholders had been carried out in accordance with applicable rules and procedures. "We adhere to what is the DEN rule and what is the KPU rule," explained Arifin.
