DPRD Will Tighten Supervision In The Aftermath Of DKI Provincial Government Grant Funds To Bekasi Corruption

JAKARTA - Member of Commission C for Finance of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Wibi Andrino, emphasized that his party will closely monitor the allocation of grant funds from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to other agencies or institutions.

This is in the aftermath of a corruption case committed by the former Head of the Bekasi City Environment Agency Yayan Yuliana from the DKI Provincial Government grant to the Bekasi City Government.

"We from the DKI Jakarta DPRD will monitor it. Because this grant fund is obtained from the Jakarta public's money, which is deposited in Bekasi City," Wibi said in his statement, Wednesday, January 10.

Wibi said that the DKI Provincial Government should also actively oversee the distribution of grant funds sourced from the APBD to these partners. This is because the use of these funds must be beneficial for the community.

"Every disbursement of funds must have details. It is impossible for a penny of money from the people's taxes without an audit or that," he said.

For information, the Bekasi City Prosecutor's Office has named Yayan Yuliana and three other people as suspects in alleged corruption in the procurement of standard excavators and bulldozers in 2021.

Yayan is suspected of corruption in the procurement of standard and bulldozer excavators in 2021 at the Bekasi City Environment Agency, which is sourced from the DKI Jakarta Province aid fund with a budget ceiling value of Rp22.9 billion.

Based on the audit report on the calculation of state financial losses by the Bekasi City Regional Inspectorate, Yayan and the three other suspects cost the state Rp5.18 billion.

Now, the Bekasi City Government has temporarily dismissed Yayan from his position in the corruption case. This dismissal refers to Article 53 paragraph 2 of Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning ASN.
