Mercedes-Benz Introduces New Virtual Assistant To AI At CES Exhibition
Mercedes-Benz launched a new virtual assistant at the CES electronics trade show on Monday, Janurai 8, which is able to provide context-based advice and engage in dialogue with users. This marks further steps in the use of artificial intelligence in cars.
This assistant can speak in different tones of various emotions and ask smart questions to understand clearly what is being asked.
"Mobil adalah mitra dialog Anda. Anda dapat bertanya, berbicara, dan produktif," kata Markus Schaefer, Chief Technology Officer Mercedes, dalam sebuah pertemuan pers di Las Vegas.
The assistant will be introduced in vehicles including a new class of CLA concepts, an electric version of the manufacturer's four-door car model, which will premiere in North America at the trade show.
With less complex and varied electric vehicle hardware compared to fossil fuel engine cars, automakers are looking for ways to differentiate themselves through software offerings.
The sound assistant technology in cars is increasingly sophisticated, ranging from the use of personalized avatars to generative artificial intelligence technology.

Volkswagen has introduced its first vehicle equipped with voice assistants to integrate ChatGPT technology on Monday, which allows drivers to read research content during travel.
Volkswagen said its assistants will be able to have a dialogue with users by the middle of the year, and will remember previous questions and respond accordingly.
Mercedes-Benz said the additional feature of its new voice assistant was a feasibility check for the response it provided. It will check recommendations through data in the cloud and customer self-reports when, for example, recommended restaurants or stores have closed.
"We feel that we have an obligation if we put something in the car so that you can trust the information," said Schaefer.
