Twitch and NVIDIA to Release Multi-Encoded Live Streaming

JAKARTA -  In addition to announcing the launch of Generative AI by iStock with Getty Images, NVIDIA and Twitch together with OBS will also release multi-encode live streaming at CES 2024.

Today, many streamers have to choose between higher resolution and reliable streaming. High-quality video may provide a better viewing experience, but it also causes streaming to buffer for viewers with low bandwidth and older devices.

Twitch, as one of the most popular platforms for content creators, with more than 7 million streamers broadcasting every month, along with OBS, and NVIDIA finally announced Enhanced Broadcasting, which is supported by all RTX GPUs.

This new feature will allow streamers to stream up to three simultaneous streams to Twitch at different resolutions and qualities so that each viewer gets the optimal experience.

Beta registration for Enhanced Broadcasting will begin today and will go live later this month. In the coming months, beta testers will be able to experiment with higher input bit rates, resolutions up to 4K, up to 5 simultaneous streams, as well as new codecs.

These new codecs include next-generation AV1 for GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, which provides 40 percent higher coding efficiency over H.264, and HEVC for previous-generation GeForce GPUs.
