Chico's Fainted Problem Withdraws From Malaysia Open 2024

JAKARTA The men's singles Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo has problems at the waist so that he withdrew from the 2024 Malaysia Open which will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

Kepala pelatih tunggal putra, Irwansyah, mengatakan masalah pada pinggang dirasakan oleh Chico saat dia melakukan persiapan terakhir sebelum tim berangkat ke Kuala Lumpur.

"He said there was a slight disturbance in his waist so that it made his movements uncomfortable. Some were stuck. Finally, we decided to withdraw from the 2024 Malaysia Open for treatment and strengthening first," said Irwansyah.

Irwansyah said that if he did not recover quickly, Chico would be threatened with passing through the India Open 2024 which will take place January 16-21, 2024. He may only be able to play in the Indonesia Masters 2024.

"If this week improves, he will play at the 2024 India Open or at least at the Indonesia Masters 2024 in two weeks," he said.

Chico's resignation left only two Indonesian men's singles sectors. The two names in question are Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

Before Chico, women's doubles duo Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto also withdrew because they were not fit.

The resignation of the three representatives made Indonesia only strengthened by 11 representatives. Women's doubles is the only sector that does not have a representative at the 2024 Malaysia Open.
