AP I Serves 3.2 Million Passengers During The Christmas And New Year Holiday Period
PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I) serves 3,221,880 passenger movements and 23,649 aircraft movements at 15 airports managed during the operational period of the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year Air Transport Command Posts.
The Christmas and New Year's posts at 15 airports have been operating since 19 December 2023 and officially closed on 3 January 2024.
The President Director of AP I MMA Indah Preastuty said that the implementation of the 2023 Christmas and New Year 2024 Command Posts generally went smoothly, as evidenced by the safe, comfortable, and safe flight and airport operations.
"The growth in the number of traffic during the Christmas and New Year's Command Post compared to the previous year and the record of zero accidents at 15 airports during the operation of the Christmas and New Year's Command Post are two very encouraging things," said Indah, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, January 6.
AP I noted that the number of passenger movements at 15 airports at the 2023 Christmas and New Year's Command Posts in 2024 grew by 15 percent compared to the number of passenger movements at the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year's Command Posts as many as 2,880,952 passenger movements.
AP I also recorded growth in the number of aircraft movements, which was 4 percent compared to the previous 2022 Christmas and New Year 2023 posts which were 22,661 movements.
Indah also appreciated all stakeholders involved, including airlines, ground handling, and agencies that are members of the Christmas and New Year's Post daily operations, namely the Airport Authority Office, AirNav Indonesia, BMKG, TNI, Polri, Basarnas, Port Health Office, and other agencies.
During the operation of the Christmas and New Year's Command Post, AP I also reported Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport as AP I airport which serves the highest traffic, namely with 1,064,430 passenger movements and 6,283 aircraft movements.
In second place, namely Juanda Airport Surabaya with 631,279 passenger movements and 4,110 aircraft movements, and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in third place with 438,704 passenger movements and 3,217 aircraft movements.
For the peak of the homecoming flow for the 2023 Christmas holiday, AP I noted that it occurred on December 23, 2023 (D-2) with a total of 249,530 passenger movements served and the peak of the return flow for the 2023 Christmas holiday occurred on December 26, 2023 (D+1) with a total of 209,328 passenger movements served at 15 AP I airports.

Meanwhile, the peak of the 2024 New Year holiday homecoming flow occurred on December 30, 2023 (D-2) with 197,544 passenger movements and the peak return flow for the 2024 New Year holiday occurred on January 2, 2024 (D+1) with 211,071 passenger movements served.
During the Christmas and New Year's Post periods, AP I also noted that it had served the realization of extra flight of 922 flights. The airports with the most extra flight realizations were I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali with 385 flights, Juanda Airport in Surabaya with 139 flights, and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar with 74 flights.
