Targeting US$6 Billion In Revenue In 2030, Pertamina International Shipping Will Add Tankers

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) plans to add a fleet of tankers to support national energy security as well as a more massive expansion in the global market.

"PIS will add its tanker fleet this year either by buying or investing in the construction of new ships, especially for large and environmentally friendly tankers," said PIS CEO Yoki Firnandi in a statement to the media, Saturday, January 6.

Yoki explained that PIS has a target of achieving a revenue of 6 billion US dollars by 2030. For that, he continued, the company cannot run business as usual.

As for December 2023, PIS was recorded as having 95 ships owned and operating 315 tankers. This also makes PIS a company with the largest ship operating management in Southeast Asia.

The fleet of PIS proud tankers manned by talented officers has also made a number of achievements by successfully sailing on international routes. Throughout 2023, PIS has sailed on 50 international routes on 5 continents around the world.

"Quick action we seize market opportunities and also produce brilliant results, by posting a non-captive market revenue which rose by 22 percent," said Yoki.

In terms of performance, until October 2023 PIS managed to score a profit of 225.11 million US dollars, an increase of 71 percent compared to the same period last year. This increase was of course driven by an increase in revenue of 19 percent, which touched at the level of 2.62 billion US dollars.

We have also succeeded in encouraging digital transformation that integrates the entire business process, starting from commercial, operation, finance, and performance. Even in terms of decarbonization, we have exceeded 200 percent of the 2023 target, by successfully reducing tens of thousands of emissions," Yoki continued.

PIS, said Yoki, is preparing to run twice as fast this year to make Indonesia proud and prosper the national maritime industry in the global arena.
