KPU Expands Third Debate Theme, Anies Has No Problem
Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan has no problem with the General Election Commission (KPU) decision which expanded the theme of the third debate of the 2024 presidential election from four to six subthemes.
According to Anies, he is used to getting various questions that must be answered during dialogue with the community so far. Anies also felt that he should always be ready to explain his ideas to the public.
"The problems in society are A to Z. If you work in this country, you have to be ready to meet with business A to Z. This is not a test that uses lattices, no," said Anies at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 5.
By decomposing answers by presidential and vice-presidential candidates from all questions that arise, both in debate and in public dialogue, according to Anies, the public will be able to assess the competence of the potential leaders.
"Taking decisions requires understanding the way he thinks, his track record. Well, a way of dialogue like this is an open way. We believe this is a change that we encourage. So, the change is not when he is on duty, but from the campaign period we have encouraged our democracy. our campaign is of higher quality," explained Anies.
The General Elections Commission (KPU) announced the development from four themes to six themes because there were several previous themes that received expansion.
The six themes include defense, security, international relations, globalization, geopoliticals, and foreign politics.
"Yesterday, the position of 4 themes, well, defense and security remained a separate theme, then international relations. We expanded it with globalization, then geopolitical as a separate issue, we expanded it with foreign politics," said KPU RI Commissioner August Mellaz.
